A
professionally presented information memorandum is essential to
maximise investor
interest.
A
poorly written, ill structured document only serves to dramatically
reduce the reader's confidence in the business seeking funds and the business
owners.
It offers an irreversible bad first impression and
any actual business value suggested in the information memorandum falls
on deaf ears as the reader or investor moves on to consider one of
the other unlimited
opportunities.
The other
major issue we have found with information memorandum's written by
business owners is that they are usually 'product centric' or very
internal
looking.

Investors seldom give much weight to what the business
owner simply claims but rather, they seek third party clarification
of the value offered. Such clarification is typically non existent
in information memorandums written by the business
owner.
The main point to keep in mind is that there will
always be enough entrepreneurs seeking funds for investors to simply
ignore information memorandums that don't provide the information
they seek in a clear concise and obvious
manner.
